Heavy Civil Assistant Project Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Heavy Civil Assistant Project Manager to support our project management team in the execution of large-scale civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing heavy civil projects from inception to completion.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Help manage subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project status, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and daily reports.
  • Support the preparation of project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Assist in resolving any technical or logistical challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on project strategy and execution.
  • Foster a positive and productive team environment, promoting safety and quality on the job site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, preferably in a project management role.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
